Nancy Severson, JD, Manager, Denver Department of Environmental Health
Nancy Severson was appointed by Mayor John Hickenlooper in February 2004 to serve as Manager of the City's Environmental Health Department. Prior to joining the City in 2004, Severson worked as an independent health care consultant, served as vice president and general counsel for Lutheran Medical Center, now known as Exempla Healthcare, in Denver, Colorado, and was a partner of Holme Roberts and Owen, LLP, an international law firm. Her practice concentrated on health care issues and entities, financial and regulatory matters, and real estate and corporate transactions.
In addition to sitting on the board of directors for the Mental Health Center of Denver, Severson sits on the Metro-Denver Mental Health Triage Steering Committee. She is a member of the Governor's Regional Air Quality Committee and serves on Mayor Hickenlooper's Greenprint Council, an advisory group of high-level business and civic leaders who will recommend policy changes to the Mayor to implement his sustainable development initiative.
Severson received both her bachelor's and law degree from the University of Denver and her MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. She was appointed to the MHCD board by Mayor Hickenlooper in April 2006
