The Mental Health Center of Denver honors contributions and sacrifices made by their service men and women on Veterans Day

Denver, Colorado November 6, 2008. The Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) plans a special breakfast celebration to honor its veterans on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

While the over 25 veterans spanning the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the Afghanistan and Iraq wars are honored at a special breakfast on Veterans Day, MHCD has arranged to have the flag fly over the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. in honor of their service to our country. The flag will then be sent back to Denver to be put on display at the Mental Health Center of Denver accompanied by a certificate verifying that it flew over the capitol “in special recognition of MHCD veterans.”

“Our veterans add to the diversity of our staff,” says Dr. Carl Clark, CEO of the Mental Health Center of Denver. Our civilian soldiers bring a wide range of specialized skills, knowledge, abilities and life experiences to our organization. Their perspective and life-lessons learned help us achieve our mission by helping our consumers navigate tough times in life. We are especially honored to be working along side them at MHCD.”

MHCD’s Veterans Day recognition breakfast takes place Tuesday, November 11th at the Mental Health Center of Denver administrative offices located at 4141 E. Dickenson Place, Denver, Colorado 80222 from 8:00 – 9:30 am.
