Flag flies over the White House in honor of MHCD Veterans.

Denver, Colorado November 5, 2007 . The Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) plans a special celebration to honor its veterans.

While 23 MHCD veterans from all branches of service are honored at a special breakfast this Friday, November 9, a flag will fly over the U.S. Capitol in Washington , D.C. in their honor.

The flag will then be sent back to Denver to be put on display at the Mental Health Center of Denver accompanied by a certificate verifying that it flew over the capitol “in honor of MHCD veterans”.

“Veterans Day is a special day where we celebrate those men and women who have sacrificed so much for this county. As a Veteran myself, I understand the sacrifices our Veterans make daily for our great country, and I am grateful,” says Harmony Wright, lead psychiatric nurse at MHCD. “I am proud to be a part of MHCD, an organization that takes the time and makes the effort to value Veterans” .

The Mental Health Center of Denver recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by all our service men and women and how vital they are to maintaining the freedom and way of life we all enjoy.

MHCD's Veterans Day recognition breakfast takes place Friday, November 9 at the Mental Health Center of Denver administrative offices located at 4141 E. Dickenson Place, Denver, Colorado 80222 from 8:00 – 9:30 am.

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. This day is set aside to honor American Veterans of all wars. The observance of Veterans Day on November 11 helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America 's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
