Quality Improvement Coordinator

 

Position Summary

Responsible for analyzing, implementing and disseminating electronic systems and tools that enhance effectiveness and efficiency of clinicians in their service delivery to consumers.  Design and implement new capabilities and features of the electronic medical record system, including forms and electronic processes that facilitate the delivery of innovative, evidence-based practices that support recovery and resiliency.  Conduct training and provide consultation and coaching to staff, on-site and effectiveness in delivering services.  Provide backup assistance to the Consumer Advocate in tacking and resolving consumer complaints, and participate in other Quality System & Operational Excellence projects.  Work closely with Mangers of Quality Improvement and Health Information Systems and participate in Research & Evaluation projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop and implement solutions to address clinicians’ requests for enhancements and to increase clinicians’ accurate, effective, and efficient use of the electronic medical record system.
  2. Conduct system analysis and computer programming to contribute to departmental actives in collecting and disseminating organizational performance indicators, clinical service delivery data, and data and projects that support consumer recovery and resiliency. 
  3. Design and implement forms, scripts, and other customized solutions to the organization’s service-delivery needs.
  4. Develop and disseminate reports and feedback to clinicians from service delivery data in the electronic medical record or data warehouse.
  5. Collect, analyze, and apply clinical performance data and staff input to continuously improve the service delivery system.
  6. Develop and conduct training to clinical staff about service planning, clinical documentation, the electronic medical records system, and other topics related to the electronic medical records and clinical quality of care.
  7. Provide on-site consultation and phone support to clinical staff on service planning, documentation, and use of the electronic medical record system.
  8. Interface with external programmers and vendors on electronic medical record customization and enhancement.
  9. Provide backup and assistance to the Consumer Advocate in handling consumer complaints.
  10. Participate in other projects and research in quality systems as needed.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

Masters Degree or higher in clinical discipline or R.N. Clinical license or certification preferred.

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience in a mental health care system; and experience in systems analysis, computer programming, and implementation of electronic solutions.

  2. Demonstrated competence in clinical assessment, service planning and delivery, and clinical documentation.
  3. Strong presentation and training skills.
  4. Ability to analyze complex situations and implement coordinated, systematic solutions
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. Strong customer service skills and knowledge of good customer service practices.
  7. Working knowledge of software for electronic medical records, word processing, data tracking, and data analysis.
